My Story

Maybe not all of my adult life, but for the majority of it, I have been a curvy woman. For years I struggled with it and the judgements from myself and others that came along with being plus sized. I would cut the tags out of my clothing so I wouldn't be reminded of the size I was wearing. I would purchase clothing that was a bit too small in hopes that they would fit 'when I lost weight'. However, when I finally embraced my body 'in the now' I was able to focus my energy on more productive things than worrying about the size on my label. I let my style and spirit speak for itself and what a difference that has made in my life.

I have worked with women of all shapes and sizes and one thing connects us, we all have something about our bodies that we would like to change or minimize... always! Over the years I have helped women find a personal style that helps them convey to the world who they are and how they want to be perceived. Changing one's clothing may not be creating world peace, but it is helping women find inner peace.

When you start to put energy toward yourself and feeling your best amazing things can happen. New confidence to go for that promotion you have always wanted. A new realization that you are better than the situation you are currently living. A new perspective on what is important in life. Revamping your style is like giving a kick start to your soul. It gets you moving forward into the life that you were meant it live.

My Professional Bio

I grew up with a love of style. I think my passion for style started when I was 5 years old. I would spend hours dressing and re-dressing dolls in as many looks as possible. I would shop my closet and find new ways to wear old pieces. I would raid my grandmother's jewelry drawer for fabulous things that sparkled. I would sneak into my mother's room and try on all of her high heels. I was always experimenting with style.

In college I started a 5 1/2 year career in retail management. It was here that I learned how to help women of all shapes, sizes and life stages shop for their body type and create specific looks. I loved helping women feel beautiful, confident and in control. They always left with a new bounce in their step. It's amazing how powerful clothing can be...

Upon graduating college I pursued my field of study in Psychology. I wanted to continue to help people. I spent the next 8 years as a social worker where I worked in many capacities. It was in this field that I developed skills in career counseling, life coaching and crisis management. I worked with women of all walks of life from displaced homemakers to laid off executives.

My love of jewelry and things that sparkled took me to Brooklyn, New York where I lived for a year. I had just completed my Graduate Gemologist degree and had gotten a job working in Manhattan as an assistant buyer/merchandiser for a jewelry company. During this time I was also pursuing an education in jewelry design. It was in New York that a dear friend of mine asked me to help her shop for a new wardrobe. She had received a big promotion at work and needed to look the part. Never turning down the opportunity to shop... I enthusiastically agreed. Standing in fitting room after fitting room helping my friend transform from the woman who wore thrift store men's chinos two sizes too big to a woman who commanded attention when she walked into the room was incredible. A personal style therapist was born.

Armed with my retail styling experience, career counseling, life coaching and eye for design I know that I can help you look great right now. Not 10 pounds from now. Not a promotion from now. Live your best in the present and know that the confidence to create the life you have always wanted will follow!
